Time to break out the taffeta or dust off your favorite powder-blue tux: the Winter Rock Formal is going to be a tacky nostalgia fest straight out of teen comedies and after-school specials. You know, the kind of prom you always secretly dreamed of having in high school. Activities will include prom-style photos — trellis and all — and a spoof of what could be the cheesiest game show of all time, The Dating Game. And with WFNX’s Dave Duncan and the oh-so-romantic indie sounds of Gene Dante & the Future Starlets, Parlour Bells, and Highly Personal Trash, you know you’ll be awkwardly dancing the night away at Church.
