O.N.C.E. in Hell: Dante's Inferno in 10 Courses
Care to dine in hell? No, we’re not talking about eating at a suburban chain restaurant or a certain student stir-fry joint. This is O.N.C.E. in Hell’s Dante's Inferno in Ten Courses, a seasonal, locally sourced feast served with a theatrical performance of the 14th-century classic. Fine dining with a side of Furies, if you will. Following the show — which features familiar faces from the ART and Oberon — you’ll be invited to party in “Heaven."
Cuisine en Locale offer this One Night Culinary Event (O.N.C.E.) with help from the A.R.T.'s Artistic Associate Allegra Libonati and Steven Mitchell Wright, movement director for Oberon's current production of Cabaret. The night fuses performance, dinnertime, and Dante's Inferno. Virgil, your Maitre D', guides you through the nine circles of Hell; you'll meet many unsavory characters along the way. The night will include a ten-course meal from local sources, and it all ends with a celebration in Heaven.
