This cultural landmark has been a Brookline institution since 1933, and has escaped the fate of so many other Boston-area movie houses. The Coolidge, as it is affectionately called, shows the latest art-house films, old classics, rediscovered masterpieces, lively cult flicks, and the occasional live performance via telecast, a puppeteer, or a burlesque troupe. This art-deco church of cinema is a holy site for all film fans to experience.
