Vanna
website: http://www.epitaph.com
Perhaps the best kept secret in the flourishing New England post-hardcore scene, VANNA had hardly been together a year before capturing the attention of Epitaph - who has joined forces with the young band and is now looking forward to a debut release in June 2006 after finishing recording their EP in February at Q Division in Boston. VANNA is taking the hardcore sound to a new level by weaving a textural sonic web of vocals that vary from clear, soaring melodies to visceral growls and incensed screams. This unique vocal approach is perfectly complimented by dual guitars that attack with merciless precision and bitter-sweet dissonance. Citing bands such as He is Legend, Haste the Day, Norma Jean, Underoath, Everytime I Die, & Therefore I Am. as huge influences, VANNA draws from a diverse pool of sound to create their unique and exciting brand of music. Regardless of titles and influences, VANNA is surely and earful of interesting and driving music, but to get the whole story one must attend a VANNA performance. With one of the most energetic live performances, this band surely thrashes like no other until there is literally nothing left. Focused on bringing the fun back to heavy underground music, they leave not a dry eye (or shirt) in the crowd. With flying guitars and flailing limbs, the sonical onslaught that is VANNA cannot be ignored as a powerful force that will knock you down and keep you smiling and coming back for more. They are also all a bunch of genuinely nice guys.
