Summary: Emily Haines is the lead singer of the Canadian band Metric . She is also a part-time member of Broken Social Scene . She has contributed backing vocals to albums by other Broken Social Scene alumni, such as solo albums by Jason Collett and albums by Stars . Emily is a daughter of Canadian poet Paul Haines and sister of Canadian television journalist Avery Haines. She was born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Canada.
